Getzy was selected and ordered on the internet from a responsible well-known breeder who has selectively bred and produced many therapy dogs and working dogs. His amazing temperament, ability and desire to work for a human and spirit made him the perfect choice for me.
Getzy flew on an airplane at 17 weeks old from Nebraska to Sunny Las Vegas. It was love at first sight! When I opened the kennel after picking him up from the cargo pick up area, my heart stood still, I never expected him to be so beautiful. His warm brown eyes melted my heart. I scooped him up and instantly he melted in my arms. I knew he was special.
His training started immediately. We began socializing, and started working with Sue Grundfest (Love Dog Las Vegas LLC.) who is Southern Nevada's only instructor/evaluator for Delta Society Pet Partners Animal Assisted Pet Therapy organization (www.deltasociety.org). He was first evaluated under careful scrutiny from Sue to check on temperament and reliability. He passed with flying colors. I wanted to be able to incorporate Getzy into my classroom. He went through all of the required steps from solid obedience training to Delta's Workshop and a very advanced testing process. Getzy is a documented Service Dog (medical alert), which takes his training and testing to an even higher level - and he performed beautifully.
